Photovoltaic Installer

The program develops modern skills in the field of solar technology for youth and young adults who want to pursue their careers as a solar technician and an entrepreneur in this field. The program objective is to generate more resourceful labor and capacity building in Solar Photovoltaic sector.

The program will give the students skills that make them able to install and maintain photovoltaic installations.

The photovoltaic market has shown a continuous growth during the last decades. Choosing the right photovoltaic installer plays a significant role in the quality and the performance of the system. The installation is a complex task, not only from the technical point of view where installers must have knowledge about DC/AC electricity and safety, in parallel with roofing skills and understanding of designing rules but also from the financial and legal aspects.

The students that complete will achieve a diploma as Photovoltaic Installers level Tec 1 (International level ISCED 2011: level 2, first year).

The program described in this document is a 6-month program giving skills that make the student able to install and maintain photovoltaic installations:

  • Introduction weeks       4 weeks
  • Course weeks              20 weeks

  • Practical work
  • Video instructions, individual work and group work
  • Tests
  • Theoretical studies
