Education gives us a knowledge of the world around us and changes it into something better. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life.
People debate over the subject of whether education is the only thing that gives knowledge. Some say education is the process of gaining information about the surrounding world while knowledge is something very different. They are right. But then again, information cannot be converted into knowledge without education. Education makes us capable of interpreting things, among other things. It is not just about lessons in textbooks or courses on internet. It is about the lessons of life.
Education is a powerful weapon
Nelson Mandela said; “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Education enhances one’s knowledge and as the saying goes; Knowledge is Power. However, the power that a person possesses will be dependent on how an individual uses it. A person could ultimately choose to use knowledge and power for the benefit of themselves, for others or to be simply used in the destruction of humankind. Education is the knowledge of putting one’s potentials to maximum use. Education makes the man a right thinker. It tells the man how to think and how to make the decision.
Individual education for the global benefit
This is where the education should be given importance. As education is geared towards individual development, such development should eventually transform into social development. For individuals and nations, it is key to creating, applying, and spreading knowledge and thus to the development of dynamic, globally competitive economies.
Knowledge is valued information regarding the social interests of a society, culture, civilization, community, or nation gathered from a range of various media platforms and specific information is about a specific topic. Although it takes time and effort to gain knowledge, many human character traits and skills such as intelligence, problem-solving, confidence, and open-mindedness are judged by the amount of general knowledge one has obtained. Moreover, knowledge helps with personal growth, good citizenship, and a stronger society.
